Cats Screensaver – Cute Images of Cats on Your Desktop
If you are a dog person, then you need to look elsewhere, you need to take a look at Dogs Screensaver. But if you are a cat person, then you need to stay right here and check Cats Screensaver. There are several things you need to know about this screensaver.
First up you need to know that you will not have to part with your hard earned money to use it. Wallpaper Screensavers offers Cats Screensaver free of charge, which means you can use it for as long as you want and keep your money in your pocket.
Speaking of using Cats Screensaver, you need to know that this is a classic slideshow screensaver. Slideshow screensavers work like this: they kick in when your computer goes idle, display an image for a bit (in this case the default setting is 10 seconds), transition to another image, display that for a bit, then transition to another image, and then to another image, and so on and so forth.
You also need to know that Cats Screensaver allows you to customize the way the browser works. There are plenty of options you can play with from the settings pane. And to be more precise, you can do the following from the settings pane:
- Select the order in which the images will be displayed. You can choose between sequential, random and shuffle.
- Adjust for how long the images will be displayed; by default they will be displayed for 10 seconds. After displaying an image for 10 seconds the screensaver will move to the next image.
- Select what transition effects the screensaver will use when switching from one image to another. There are a myriad of effects to go through.
- Select the speed of the transition effects.
- Adjust the screensaver’s behavior. You can for example set it so the screensaver will exit only when you press the ESC key.
- Enable the “Start image painting on Desktop” option. When the “Start image painting on Desktop” option is selected, the screensaver doesn’t just show up; it uses a transition effect to pop in.
Here’s one other thing you should know about. If you like an image so much that you have to see it all day, every day, with a single key stroke you can set it as your desktop wallpaper. By pressing F2 you can set an image presented by Cats Screensaver as you desktop background.
Before you go get Cats Screensaver and put it to the test, take a look at the technical details presented below:
Download – the download weighs in at 6.3MB.
Supported OS – at the time of writing this and according to the developer, Cats Screensaver provides support for Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, NT, Windows XP and Windows Vista. Tested the screensaver on Windows 7 and it seems to work fine on this Windows version as well.
Limitations – there are none since this application is freeware. You can use it free of charge for as long as you want.
